NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12GB graphics card to launch in Q1 2022 to address GPU uptime issues

NVIDIA is reportedly preparing a new version of its GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card that could double the memory capacity to address the current issue of gaming graphics card availability.

The latest report regarding the production and availability of the GeForce RTX 2060 is shared by Videocardz. According to the report, NVIDIA plans to produce a significant stock of its RTX 2060 GPUs for launch in January 2022. The reason is simple and clear, to tackle the graphics card and the looming GPU shortages that are expected in the first half of 2022.

If you step back a bit, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 has already been put back into production twice to meet demand from gamers and ECafe in Asia-Pacific markets. Production was then halted to focus on Ampere GPUs such as the GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti as they improved in terms of availability. But an impending shortage has now been reported and the old Turing card will resume production.
