Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti is faster than RTX 2080 Super for almost half the price

As the end of the year approaches, Nvidia has presented its fourth RTX 30 Series card for your consideration this festive season. The RTX 3060 Ti is the most affordable entry in its generation of Amp-powered GPUs, bringing with it the suite of software enhancements that made Nvidia’s hardware so attractive.

Nvidia positions the RTX 3060 Ti not only as the perfect companion for high frame rate gaming at 1080p and 1440p, but also as a decent upgrade for anyone on the latest generation RTX 2060. The latter GPU is expected to deliver on par or better than the RTX 2080 Super, making the RTX 2080 Ti the only 20 Series card that can still beat it in most traditional workloads.

This makes its price tag of $ 399 more appealing, especially considering that it costs $ 300 less than the 2080 Super at its introductory price. Nvidia delivered better performance for less with its entire RTX 30 lineup, and it’s apparently no different with this version.

The RTX 3060 Ti has the same 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM as the RTX 3070, but comes with slightly fewer CUDA and Tensor cores. Like most modern GPUs from Nvidia, it will support proprietary software enhancements like Super Deep Sampling (DLSS), RTX Voice, Nvidia Reflex, and more.

The RTX 3060 Ti is released tomorrow, December 2. The RTX 3080 and 3070 launches have been plagued by low stock and scalping issues, and the lower price of Nvidia’s latest card will only further entice this practice.
