Nvidia's AI-based DLSS scaling was not as much a subject of discussion as the ray throwing, but it did a solid job in its stated goal of n & # 39; 39, improve the performance of games running at higher resolutions. Monster Hunter World will receive DLSS support next week and Nvidia says you can expect performance gains of up to 50%.

DLSS shows its most notable improvements at 4K, but as we noted in our review of Metro Exodus' performance, these gains can be substantial. In its announcement, Nvidia indicates that 60 frames per second in maximum settings with the high resolution texture pack is now achievable through the addition of DLSS. They have impressive numbers in their own landmarks, but we will always throw a few grains of salt during the performance reviews provided by the manufacturers.

Monster Hunter World will have a notable advantage over previous DLSS games: a sharpness slider. This will allow you to make your image sharper or softer depending on what you prefer. It remains to be seen whether this feature will be extended to other DLSS games.

The DLSS update for Monster Hunter World will be available on July 17th.
