Nvidia today launches its new RTX A2000 GPU, designed for professional workstations. This is Nvidia’s smallest Ampere-based GPU to date and can easily squeeze into small form-factor workstations. The RTX A2000 is based on the latest Ampere architecture from Nvidia and is designed to improve the performance of 3D modeling and rendering software such as Blender, Autodesk 3ds Max, etc. It includes second generation RT cores, third generation tensor cores for AI tools and support for PCIe 4.
Its compact and unobtrusive design features a single fan and four DisplayPort 1.4 ports on the back, making it ideal for workstations with multiple monitors. Nvidia is targeting the RTX A2000 at those who work remotely, helping with 3D design, through a form factor that can fit into large and small workstations. It is only 2.7 inches high and 6.6 inches long, which is the size of a miniature RTX 3060. Overall, the RTX A2000 is almost half the size of the giant RTX 3090.
Nvidia is working with various partners to make the RTX A2000 available on Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo workstations and more. The RTX A2000 is expected to debut at Nvidia partners in October, priced at around $ 450.
