VERONA, Wisconsin – The National Weather Service in Milwaukee has confirmed that a tornado hit Verona early Thursday morning, making it at least the ninth confirmed tornado caused by inclement weather that swept through the state.
NWS officials said the tornado hit Verona at 12:47 a.m.

After inspecting several damaged areas in southeastern Wisconsin on Thursday, the NWS confirmed that at least six tornadoes had touched down. On Friday afternoon, the NWS confirmed a tornado in East Wales.
*** Preliminary results of the investigation revealed a 5th tornado classified as EF-0 *** This occurred in East Wales and started near Highway 18 and Brandybrook Rd moved SE and lifted just after the DT road. We will have more information this afternoon. #wiwx

The Verona tornado brings the state’s total to at least nine.
