BROOKLYN, NY – Two nights before WrestleMania 35 arrives at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, NXT superstars will take over the scene as NXT TakeOver: New York plunges into Barclays Center in Brooklyn. In recent years, NXT TakeOver has been an event not to be missed during the WrestleMania weekend, and this year is certainly no different.

This could very possibly be the most stacked NXT TakeOver card we've seen, with five championships to be defended at Barclays Center. In the main event highlighting all this, we will crown a new NXT champion, Johnny Gargano facing Adam Cole for the title left vacant by the injured Tommaso Ciampa. In the end, "not to be missed" is perhaps a euphemism for the card available for NXT TakeOver: New York Friday night in Brooklyn.

CBS Sports will be with you all the way, updating this story live with the results, analysis, ratings and highlights of the big show.

NXT TakeOver: recap in New York, notes

NXT Tag Team Championship – War Raiders (c) defeated Ricochet & Aleister Black by falling to keep the titles: Talk in a fun way to launch a TakeOver card. Both teams have not only highlighted the expected amount of athleticism taking risks and stiff strikes, but their collective comic timing was also on the agenda. Black and Ricochet played several falls near the falls until the champions were able to defend their crown when Hanson and Rowe hit Ricochet with one leg dropped from the top rope. After the match, Ricochet stayed a long time back, before the four players kissed in what could be an NXT start for Black and Ricochet before the title match at SmackDown on Sunday at WrestleMania. Grade: B +

North American Championship NXT – Velveteen Dream (c) def. Matt Riddle via pinfall to keep the title: It took longer than expected to warm up and the physical chemistry between them begins to manifest. The last third of the match was then hot. Dream creatively in a number of well-known finishing attempts, from Codebreaker to Fameasser. He also cracked to make the crowd appear in a prolonged sequence in which he imitated Hulk Hogan. In its biggest match against NXT so far, Jedusor has been up for grabs despite his first loss to WWE. Dramatic reversals became the norm all the way up until Dream canceled Bridal's attempt to roll up Riddle for 1-2-3. The two wrestlers, who will probably meet for years on the main list, kissed in a gesture of respect after the match. Grade: B +

WWE UK Championship – WALTER def. Pete Duke (c) via pinfsll to win the title: Dunne, who entered the WWE as the oldest defending champion of all time, has seen his brilliant UK champion career finish in what could be better described as war. d & # 39; wear. The physical match was also an excellent introduction for casual American fans about the great singularity of the great Austrian Walter man as a sly scorer and sneaky athlete. The problem was that the match was way too long and littered with a free amount of fake finishes. Although the big projects were well done, they did not manage to connect at the most banal moments. Grade: C +
