Barack and Michelle Obama buy a multi-million dollar estate at Martha's Vineyard.

The former president and first lady are about to buy the property located at 79 Turkeyland Cove Road in Edgartown, Massachusetts, from co-owner of Boston Celtics, Wyc Grousbeck, the TMZ announced Thursday.

The couple rented the property by the sea this summer. They would have offered less than the listing price of $ 14.85 million.

The 7,000-square-foot home sits on over 29 acres of private land along the shores of Edgartown's Great Pond, according to the list. It has seven bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, a modern kitchen and two guest wings. The master suite includes a fireplace, a private deck and a water view. The house also includes a garage for two cars, a boathouse and a jacuzzi.

"The long, winding driveway, the expansive lawn and the incredible views of the water provide the perfect family setting for future generations. explore the expanse of the Great Pond and the outer barrier for a full day on the water, "says the listing.

Grousbeck had previously put the property on the market for $ 22.5 million in 2015. It has reduced the price to $ 16.25 million in 2018.

The Obama also bought a house in the Kalorama district of Washington for $ 8.1 million after leaving the White House. The couple said they would stay in Washington, at least until their youngest daughter, Sasha, finished high school. It is unclear whether the Obamas plan to keep their home in Washington as their principal residence after Sasha graduated from Sidwell Friends School in June.
