Representative Ocasio-Cortez quoted a tweet from David Fahrenthold, a Washington Post reporter, who was referring to an article revealing documents obtained from Trump hotels. According to the newspaper, an Iraqi Sheikh would have stayed in a suite at the Trump Hotel in Washington DC for 26 days after urging the Trump government to take a "hard" approach to Iran in July 2018.
"Of course, it seems like powerful people are trying to bribe the president in the war," Ocasio-Cortez said.

Representative Ocasio-Cortez's representative collected more than 30,000 "likes" and 7,000 retweets in less than five hours, but responses to her statement varied.
