2020 has been a rich year for Apple fans, with a new product launch event announced what looked like every month. We’ve only had two events this year, revealing the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, iMac 2021, and iPad M1. But it looks like Apple might have one more trick up its sleeve for 2021.
Rumor has it that Apple will launch more new products before the end of the year, with another event taking place this month. And with many devices due to refresh, there is no shortage of equipment that the business could be configured to update. Here’s everything we expect to see. (Don’t feel like waiting? Check out the best Apple deals available now.)
Macbook Pro
There are plenty of rumors about Apple’s MacBook Pro M1 update, which launched last year. Said to be called M1X, the updated M1 chip is said to deliver improved power, speed and efficiency (well, you hope so, right?).
Design-wise, this could be the first MacBook Pro to pack an LED display, and it looks like we could get two new screen sizes, including a new 15-inch model. And seeing as the MacBook Pro looks a bit long in the tooth, we’re all for a design update – we’d love to see similar colors to the iMac 2021.
AirPods
Many were surprised that none of Apple’s AirPods got an update during last month’s event. We’ve heard rumors that the AirPods and AirPods Pro may get an update soon. the ability to control them with your teeth (yes, you read that right).
Apple Watch Series 7
While the new Apple Watch was well announced last month, Apple has yet to tell us when we can buy it. With a new edge-to-edge (or “infinity”) display that’s supposed to be the Apple display ever, along with improved health monitoring, this seems like a must-have for laptop fans. With any luck, Apple will see fit to reveal the release date at its next event.
Macbook Air
This one is a little less likely, but we’ve heard a few rumors about the next iteration of Apple’s lightest laptop. Said to be available in multiple color options (yes, please), the new Air looks set for a complete overhaul, perhaps inspired by the new iMac. And rumors also suggest the Air is in line for an LED display as well. But with all the rumors pointing to a 2022 release, we might have a bit more time to wait for this one.
Apple VR Headset
Okay, this one is a wild card. Details of Apple’s so-called VR headset have been circulating for some time, with most rumors suggesting that the virtual reality device will need to be connected to an iPhone in order to function. Again, this one is heavily rumored for 2022. But hey, isn’t it time Apple gave us a really surprising “something else”? Maybe this could be the month.
Time will tell if the company has anything else up its sleeve for 2021 – if so, we can expect event invitations to be sent out very soon. In the meantime, check out today’s best Mac deals below.
