The next big update to the Oculus Quest platform, Oculus Quest v32, will bring big improvements to media sharing and Oculus Move.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg offered the first details of the Quest v32 update last Friday. In an article, he confirmed that the update will allow you to “easily sync screenshots and screen recordings to your phone.”

Details of the first v32 quest are coming

This could be a big step forward for Quest’s media sharing capabilities because in the past it was difficult to figure out how to squeeze your content out of the headset and onto other devices. In fact, we still use SideQuest to get screenshots and videos on PC.

Elsewhere v32 will bring improvements to Facebook’s fitness tracking software, Oculus Move. You will now be able to track your goals in virtual reality and share your progress on Facebook and its messaging software as well.

That’s all we know about Quest v32 at the moment. Zuckerberg said the update is “coming soon,” which hopefully means we’ll start seeing a full rollout before the end of August. There may still be more changes to come, as past updates are usually not revealed in their entirety until an Oculus blog post is posted.

Maybe not the biggest update to the platform, then. But, with Facebook Connect just around the corner, it’s possible the company will register some crucial new features to announce at its big show. We’ll give you full coverage of the show in October.
