The Royal Portrush, in Northern Ireland, will be the center of the golf world since the 2019 British Open, also called Open Championship, will take place on the iconic site from Thursday, July 18th. The 2019 Open Championship will be the first to take place on the course. since 1951 and the natives of Northern Ireland, Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell will be the favorites of the crowd throughout the tournament. McDowell is the 2010 US Open champion and an honorary lifetime member of Royal Portrush, while McIlroy is a four-time major champion and set the course record with a record 61 in the North of Ireland. was only 16 years old. McDowell is a send-off to 50-1, while McIlroy is the 8-1 favorite in the last Open odds 2019. Brooks Koepka (10-1), Dustin Johnson (12-1) and Tiger Woods (16) -1) will be among the favorites of the Open Championship 2019. Before making your PGA predictions, listen to the Open Championship 2019 SportsLine team's choice.
SportsLine's predictive model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has nailed the last two major tournaments of the weekend. He predicted Gary Woodland's first major career championship at the US Open, although he was not the weekend's favorite. The result: Woodland resisted a late charge from Koepka and won by three shots. The model also called Koepka's historic victory at the 2019 PGA Championship, predicting that he would retain his lead in the last sector. In all, their advanced computer model has allowed six majors to enter the weekend, and all who followed it are on the rise.
Now that the 2019 Championship field is taking shape, SportsLine has simulated the event 10,000 times and the results have been surprising. The model calls for a shock: Tiger Woods, three-time champion and one of Vegas favorites, stumbles and does not even rank in the top 10 of Royal Portrush.
Woods won his 15th major championship earlier this year at the Masters. It was his first major title since the 2008 US Open and for the first time in his career he came from behind to win a major. Woods can equal Sam Snead with 82 career wins on the PGA Tour with a win at Royal Portrush, which hosts the Open for the first time since 1951.
Woods is in the top 10 career in this major discipline, but the 2019 Open Championship will be his first start since his 21st place at the US Open in June. He has played only three tournaments since his victory at Augusta, finishing beyond the top 20 in two of them. The SportsLine model says he will not win his 16th major career championship at the Open 2019 and sees much better values in a busy field.
Another surprise: Justin Rose, a long shot 20-1, makes a strong performance in the title of Open Championship 2019. It is a target for those looking for a big salary.
Rose, champion of the United States Open 2013, is the world's No. 4 and has become one of the most consistent golfers in the late thirties. The winner of the 2018 FedEx Cup brilliantly managed the ball in 2019, placing fourth in the PGA Tour in stroke shots won (.778) and sixth in total number of strokes won (1,718).
This season, Rose won the Farmers Insurance Open and finished six top-10 finishes in 13 starts, including a third place finish last month at the US Open. Rose finished second at the Open last year and has seven top five among the majors since 2012. He is a popular choice since he was fourth at Royal Birkdale at age. 17 years old in 1998 and has the skills to climb the ladder in 2019 Open the championship standings quickly.
In addition, the model says that five other golfers with Open Championship odds of 20-1 or higher will make a solid run for the title. Anyone who supports these outsiders could hit hard.
