An 8-year-old girl from Ohio was gunned down over the weekend when “hell broke out” at a teenager’s birthday party in the yard, according to police and local reports.
Little Mikayla Pickett was shot in the back when gunfire broke out shortly before midnight Friday in Akron’s Sherbondy Hill neighborhood, cops said.
Willie Walker, 62, told the Akron Beacon-Journal he was having a birthday party for his 15-year-old grandson in his backyard when the shooting took place.
“All hell has broken out,” he says.
Three or four people showed up on the property and started shooting at family and friends who were at the celebration, said Walker, who was inside the house when the shots were fired. start.
He said he did not know the deceased girl.
Police found several shell casings at the scene.
“I don’t know how many shells they took,” Walker said. “Many of them.”
