Ohio soccer team reportedly lied about ESPN, played Sto-Rox days earlier – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – Columbus, Ohio, soccer team allegedly lied in order to play a televised game on ESPN, featured college players, a coach wanted at one point for fraud and played at Sto-Rox High School a few days earlier at Wolvarena in Woodland Hills, outside Pittsburgh.

According to SBNation, officials from the Bishop Sycamore football program told ESPN that the team are fielding players with a number of Division I college football offers. There has apparently been no verification of these claims by who. whether it was at ESPN and Sycamore was allowed to enter the field in a televised game against arguably the best high school football program in the country.

Awful Annoncing reported that all games on ESPN are programmed by a third-party marketing agency. A spokesperson for the agency said the game would have been called off had they known about Friday night’s game against Sto-Rox.

TribLive.com reported that the team played at Sto-Rox High School on Friday night, three days before the game televised on ESPN. Sto-Rox would win the game 19-7. Sycamore abandoned the televised game 58-0. Videos from both matches showed the same players playing in the same positions.

According to Max Preps, the school is based in Columbus, Ohio and is an online-only charter school. The official school website has a few blog-style articles and a completely empty “about us” page. The school is not listed as a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association. Other reports were unable to verify the school’s physical location, practice facilities, and list eligibility.
