With three engagements from the top 150 players, the state of Ohio now sits in the top recruiting class of 2022, according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.

The Buckeyes edged Michigan State in the final class standings following the entry of top 30 point guard Bruce Thornton on Thursday morning. The state of Ohio is now alone at the top of the composite rankings with 59 points and an average recruiting score of 95.91.

The class is led by Thornton, the No. 30 overall player in the class and No. 7 point guard. He is joined by Roddy Gayle Jr., the No. 7 shooting guard and No. 76 overall player in the class of 2022, as well as Shooting Guardian # 23 and Player # 149 Bowen Hardman.

It comes after the Buckeyes signed a trio of 100 top prospects earlier this month for the class of 2021, including No. 4 shooting guard and No. 23 overall player Malaki Branham and forward.
