The Ohio State schedule for the 2024 season is full.
The Buckeyes will host Western Michigan at Ohio Stadium in 2024, an Ohio State spokesperson confirmed Thursday.
According to Tony Paul’s report from the Detroit News, the state of Ohio will pay Western Michigan $ 1.8 million for the game. The Broncos were originally scheduled to play Cincinnati in 2024, but will now play the Buckeyes instead after paying Cincinnati a $ 500,000 buyout.
According to Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch, the Ohio State game against West Michigan will be played on September 21, 2024. Ohio State is also scheduled to host Southern Miss on August 31 and face Washington on the road on September 14 before start their Big Ten Schedule for the 2024 season against Illinois on September 28.
The game will only be the second meeting between Ohio State and Western Michigan, who previously played at Shoe in 2015. The Buckeyes beat the Broncos 38-12 in that game; Current Minnesota coach PJ Fleck was Western Michigan coach at the time.
With the addition of West Michigan to the calendar, Ohio State’s football schedules are now full until the 2025 season.
