Morgan has played nine seasons with the Titans, and he ends his career with 420 tackles, 44.5 sacks and 214 quarterbacks. He played 118 games in Tennessee with 106 starts.

A nine-year veteran, Morgan told Titans Online in February that he was realizing that his days with the team – and in the NFL – could be over.

"I intend to see what are all options," he said at the time. "I want to see what the market looks like for me and what my options are outside of Tennessee, and we'll leave from there."

He thanked the Titans for giving him a chance.

Morgan played 12 games with the Titans in 2018 and finished with 37 tackles, 11 quarterbacks and half a sack. He became a free agent in March. Linebacker Brian Orakpo announced his retirement the day after the 2018 season.

Morgan has played for five different coaches with the Titans, from Jeff Fisher to Mike Munchak, from Ken Whisenhunt to Mike Mularkey to Mike Vrabel.

"The teammates I've been in contact with, guys like Karl Klug, Jurrell Casey and Wesley Woodyard," Morgan said. "Being able to develop friendships and connecting with guys like that was the best part of our journey.

"I think the Titans have a great group of guys in this locker room, so I always wish them success."

In his Monday morning social media article, Morgan said he "looked forward to this next phase of life."

"Please stay tuned," he says. "I'm just starting."
