Republicans on Wednesday unearthed past examples of Democratic House impeachment officials and President Biden using the words “fight” or “fight like hell” – one of the main allegations against former President Donald Trump during his Senate trial.
Save America PAC’s “Trump War Room” tweeted a “FLASHBACK” screenshot of Senior House Director Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), Citing the notion of fighting to block Republican efforts to quickly replace the the late United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who followed her dead in September.
“The GOP’s rush to replace Justice Ginsburg is to destroy the Affordable Care, Women’s Health Care and Reproductive Freedom Act, as well as the people’s suffrage and civil rights,” Raskin tweeted at the time.
“We must fight like hell to stop this attack on health care and the Constitution.”
In another tweet uncovered by the Trump War Room, Raskin urged, “This is our democracy – fight for it” in 2017 as call to a probe in Trump’s alleged ties to Russia.
The Trump War Room also resurfaced a pair of tweets from 2017 in which House Manager Ted Lieu (R-Calif.) Put a violent spin on former First Lady Michelle Obama’s famed credo, “When they go low, we go high. ”
“I like it. But I like it better, ‘when they go low, we fight’,” Location said in one.
In Trump’s second impeachment trial, House officials repeatedly cited Trump’s use of “fight” and “fight like hell” while addressing his supporters shortly beforehand. their January 6 riot at the United States Capitol.
“President Trump has used the word ‘fight’ or ‘fight’ 20 times, including telling the crowd that we have to ‘fight like hell’ to save our democracy,” said U.S. Representative Madeleine Dean (D -Pa.) Wednesday afternoon.
Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee also tweeted a screenshot of then-candidate Biden discussing how his father came upstairs to announce that their family needed to move from Pennsylvania to Delaware in order to make a living.
“That’s why I’ve spent my entire career fighting – and I will continue to fight – like hell so no one has to do this walk again,” Biden tweeted in May.
In a sneaky reference to the pending “incitement to insurgency” charge against Trump, @JudiciaryGOP added: “Incitement?”
