“Driver’s License” now has the record for most streams of a song in a week and the most streams of a non-vacation song in a single day on Spotify. It’s also the fastest song to hit 100 million streams on the service.
Not too shabby for a first single, eh!

Around the time Olivia started hinting at a breakup, Joshua was pictured at an apparent lunch with Sabrina Carpenter. Fans noted that Sabrina fit the vague description of the girl Olivia’s ex-boyfriend leaves her for in “Drivers License” – blonde and older than her – and that the song’s lyrics, which originally referred to a brunette, had actually been altered from an earlier version to fit Sabrina’s appearance.
There were also a bunch of other things that made “Driver’s License” look like Joshua was about, including a subtle music video of the two of them as they were apparently dating appearing in the movie. video, as well as lyrical references that seem to confirm the song is about him (Olivia refers to the boy in question driving a white car and, what do you know, Joshua is driving a white car).
