Things go wrong in the second half of the SEC tournament game between Florida and Tennessee. At the start of the second half, Florida Omar Payne was kicked out after giving in Tennessee John fulkerson a pair of punches to the head.

With just over 17 minutes to go into the second half, Payne and Fulkerson were battling for a rebound when things got choppy. Payne gave Fulkerson a forearm slide toward the head and neck area before spinning and knocking Fulkerson to the floor with an elbow to the side of his head.

Fulkerson immediately went to the ground in pain, and medics came out to treat him. Yves Pons, Fulkerson’s teammate, came to his defense, but he and Payne were separated before things got out of hand.

Finally, Fulkerson was able to get to his feet and walk to the locker room. After reviewing the game, officials issued a blatant 2 to Payne, and he was kicked out of the game as a result.

Once the game resumed, ESPN reporter Marty Smith provided an update on Fulkerson’s condition. He said the volunteers were very “careful” with their elder. About 11 minutes into the game, Tennessee officially ruled Fulkerson out for the remainder of the game.
