One dead and 5 injured in California boat accident kill 1, officials say

According to officials, one person was killed and five others injured as a result of a naval collision in northern California.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office announced on Twitter that the incident occurred Saturday night near the ski beach in the San Joaquin Delta, just west of Stockton.

According to officials, six people were aboard a boat that was struck by another boat. One person was declared dead on the spot and five others were taken to a hospital in the area for treatment.

According to the police, the suspect suspected of being behind the accident fled before the authorities arrived.

The sheriff's office told KCRA-TV that the only victim was a "young woman".
