One dead, another seriously injured in SLC shooting

SALT LAKE CITY – One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a shootout Saturday night in the Glendale area of ​​Salt Lake City.

SLC police were investigating three different crime scenes: one where police believe the shooting happened shortly before 7 p.m. and the other where each victim was found. All three stages are located a few blocks from each other near 900 West and 1300 South.

One person, who was not identified on Saturday evening, died of gunshot wounds at the scene after passers-by and police provided first aid.

A second gunshot victim, a boy under 18, was also found with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital in critical condition. He was found in a vehicle a few blocks from the scene of the shooting.

Lt. Steve Wooldridge of the SLCPD said residents said the victims were “taken” from the scene.

Police said they believed it started when a group of people pulled over in a pedestrianized vehicle, a “confrontation” occurred and gunshots were exchanged at one point.

Police will investigate the multiple crime scenes, possibly late at night and possibly in the morning.
