Montgomery police said five suspects had used a car to go to the Rockville Weapons Store early Thursday morning. Four suspects are still on the run and one of them has been declared dead on the scene.

One person died and police continued their manhunt Thursday morning for four men who, according to police, used a stolen car to smash an armory in Rockville and get sewn with guns under the gun. covered in the dark.

At approximately 2:30 am, the five men drove a vehicle in front of the United Gun Shop at 5465 Randolph Road, obtained an undisclosed number of firearms and fled into another vehicle, a white SUV, striking a police vehicle about a kilometer away. far, according to the police.

The officer on board the cruise car was not injured and opened fire. After a brief chase, the vehicle became disabled and four of the suspects ran. The fifth suspect was found dead in the vehicle as a result of a gunshot wound, police said.

Both vehicles were stolen, the authorities said.

Crime scene residents, east of Highway 355, were asked to remain vigilant when the police started using a leaf.

Several guns were found outside the vehicle and a bag containing extra firearms was found in the yard of a neighboring house.

The officer who fired the shots was put on administrative leave, according to department policy, according to police.

United Gun Shop, in a row of old small brick industrial stores, has had at least one other burglary. In 2017, several firearms were stolen and police said they had investigated an attempted robbery in the store in February.
