One of the largest aluminum companies in the world is currently experiencing a cyberattack

The Norwegian company Hydro Aluminum, said that almost all of its computer systems were currently down due to an "extensive" attack that began Monday night and continues.

Context: The company is one of the largest aluminum and renewable energy companies in the world, employing approximately 35,000 people in approximately 50 different countries.

Communication lines: The company's website is down, so it currently uses Facebook as the primary means of communication. He stated that most of his computer systems have been affected, but that his plants are operating normally on isolated systems.

Security measures: In a message, Hydro said the attacks did not hurt anyone, although they "affected the operations of several areas of the company's business around the world."

First days: Hydro said it was too early to assess the source, impact or scope of the attack, but contacted all relevant authorities and will communicate updates as soon as possible.
