One of Waze's Best Features Now Available to More Google Maps Users – BGR

Google has added several features of Waze to Google Maps in the last few months, which is great news for Waze fans who want to enjoy a similar experience with Google Maps.

We found speed limits and speed traps hit Google Maps, with Google confirming this new feature. We then saw the signature feature of Waze when testing in Maps. This is the incident reporting feature that allows you to publish updates on your current traffic and to notify other users of traffic and accidents.

This incident reporting feature is now widely deployed 9to5Google reports, which means more Google Maps users will have access to them. Other users have released screenshots on Reddit showing the feature in action:

There is no need to update Google Maps to see the new reports button because this is a server-side switch, although you need to make sure that you are using the latest version of the application. You'll see incident reports in Google Maps once Google introduces this feature into your market. The UI button will be marked as "New" as shown in the screenshot above.

Touch it and the Google Maps incident report panel appears. This is where you can post notifications of accidents or speed traps you might encounter along the way:

This seems to be the only type of incident Google Maps supports at the moment, but it's still a massive upgrade to Google's main browser app. If you prefer a crowdsourcing-powered browsing experience offered by the app, you may not want to give up on Waze, but we would not be surprised to see Google embed all of Waze's features in Google Maps in the not-too-distant future. . We will add that the Waze incident reporting feature works so well because it is available to a large number of users. It should be the same for Google Maps once users have benefited.
