The motorcycle officer killed in the accident was identified by the CHP on his Facebook page as Sgt. Steve Licon. "Our heart is heavy after the immeasurable loss of a friend, a father, a husband and a hero," said the CHP in a statement. "Rest easy, brother, we have the watch here."
