It seems it wasn’t until yesterday that the 2018 OnePlus flagships got their very first open beta versions of OxygenOS 11, but it’s actually been three whole weeks. If you’ve spent that time counting down the days waiting for a second beta, you’re in luck. OnePlus is back with a brand new software review, along with some essential bug fixes for testers.

Unlike last time, the changelog for Oxygen OS 11 beta 2 is quite sparse. There aren’t any major surprises or new game-changing features – just a handful of fixes for common issues found in the first version of OnePlus. Managing overheating control seems to be the most important solution here, as this software is now optimized to prevent third-party apps from burning your phone.

Change log

  • System
    • Optimization of the management of the overheating control of third-party applications
    • Improved system stability and fixed known issues
  • Camera
    • Fixed issue of captured images cannot be saved
  • Network
    • Improved 5G Wi-Fi connectivity

The captured images will now be properly saved to the gallery, which is sure to please parents or pet owners who have found themselves unable to take pictures of loved ones. Network conditions on 5 GHz Wi-Fi channels have been “improved”, which could lead to faster and more stable connections. And finally, there is a vague improvement in “system stability” for good measure.

As always, you can head over to the OnePlus Forums for the full list of patch notes. If you want to join the beta, you will need to install the original version first before upgrading to this current version. Hopefully we’re only a few betas away from a stable upgrade.
