Today is the official launch day for Android 10. The same day as this launch, the open beta versions of OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro Android 10 are available.
Although an open beta version of Android 10 is certainly not identical to a stable version, open beta versions of OnePlus are generally quite reliable. This means that a large number of OnePlus 7 Pro owners will have access to a pretty stable version of Android 10 the same day that Pixel owners get the official version.
Below, you will find the official changelog of this open beta 1 of the two OnePlus 7 devices. This changelog shows the differences between this first beta and the stable version of Android 9 Pie:
- System
- Upgrading to Android 10
- New design of the user interface
- Improved location permissions for privacy
- New customization feature in settings allowing you to choose which icon shapes to display in quick settings
- Gestures in full screen
- Added swipes in from the left or right edge of the screen to go back
- Adding a lower navigation bar to allow toggling left or right for recent applications
- Play area
- The new Game Space feature now brings all your favorite games together in one place for easier access and a better gaming experience.
- Smart display
- Supported smart information based on specific times, places, and events for Ambient Display (Settings – Display – Ambient Display – Smart Display)
- Message
- It is now possible to block keyword spam for Message (Messages – Spam – Settings – Block Settings)
This open beta now cancels and replaces the developer insights that OnePlus has released for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in recent months, the most recent of which just landed yesterday.
