OnePlus’ Indian Twitter account teases what appears to be the company first wearable fitness bracelet. The company claims that the device, which Android Central previously reported will be called the OnePlus Band, “will help you achieve all of your fitness goals and make your life easier.” He also suggested in a later tweet that the group could track sleep. OnePlus’ tweet links to a page on Amazon India that says the device will feature real-time heart rate monitoring.
In a tweet, tipster Ishan Agarwal then shared some supposed specs for the unannounced device. He claims the OnePlus Band will offer 24/7 heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking and 13 built-in exercise modes. In terms of specifications, it will be equipped with a 1.1-inch OLED display, an IP68 water resistance rating and a battery life of up to 14 days. It will cost ₹ 2,499 (around $ 35) and launch in India within a week, Agarwal says.
While the OnePlus teaser images don’t show the laptop very clearly, a leak of @stufflistings last month showed what it could look like, complete with a rectangular screen and a rubber watch strap.
OnePlus already produces phones, headphones, and even TVs in some markets, but the company confirmed that it was looking to move into new product categories during its OnePlus 8T launch event last year. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the company plans to launch a smartwatch early this year.
Although OnePlus sells phones worldwide, it’s worth noting that the two teases for its fitness tracker come from its Indian Twitter account, indicating that the OnePlus Band may be focusing on the Indian market, at least initially.
