At International 2018, Pain Gaming and a team of Chinese legends battled OpenAI. The two human teams defeated OpenAI, but artificial intelligence took it much more seriously than you thought. On April 13 in San Francisco, the OpenAI robots took on the TI8 OG champions in a best-of-three competition and beat them 2-0. The robots continue to improve as they learn from each defeat and it seems that they have learned a lot from their defeats at TI8.

Game 1 – 38 minutes

Match 1 was a respectable affair where the net worth of both sides oscillated between the two teams. OpenAI made some quick redemptions that looked suspicious at first, but they tended to be in their favor almost every time. The concessions came to an end and OpenAI took the three barracks and then the match in 38 minutes. They had a quad core range with Sven being a 4-position hero who had a considerable farm on him

Thu 2 – 21 minutes

Match 2 was quite different from match 1 with OpenAI canceling the world champions in 21 minutes. This time, Sven played at position 3, showing that robots can adapt to play a particular hero in a different position. OG just did not get bored and the game was over before we knew it!

The OpenAI team really took their creation to a higher level. It will be interesting to see what's next. Maybe the team will try to incorporate more heroes into the program. There will surely be exhibition matches at the TI9 in Shanghai. This time it might be time for OpenAI to shine at the biggest Dota 2 event of the year!
