OR begins WCWS Thursday against Alabama

NORMAN – Oklahoma (54-3), seeded number 1 in the world, opens its game at the 2019 World Series of Women's College, Thursday at 20:30. CT against No. 8 Alabama seed (57-8) on ESPN 2.

The Sooners are making their eighth WCWS appearance in the last nine years and their 13th trip overall.

This will be the seventh time the Sooners will face the scarlet tide at WCWS and the 10th meeting of the final round. The two programs met for the last time during the opening match of the World Series 2016; UO won 3-0 in eight innings when freshman Shay Knighten had a home run of three points.

In their second match of the double elimination tournament, the Sooners will face the number 13 Oklahoma State (44-15) or the winner of Sunday's Super Region match between No. 5 Florida (48-16) and number 12 Tennessee (43-16). Additional information on the calendar will be available after the conclusion of the Florida vs. Tennessee case.

Tickets for all sessions are sold, as well as all single sessions, with the exception of session 1. A limited number of standing tickets will be available for each sold-out session. They will be available at the stadium on the day of the respective session. Fans can also look for tickets on NCAA.com/Exchange, the NCAA-approved secondary market for tickets.
