NORMAN – Oklahoma is back for the World Series of Women's College Series.
The best softball team in Oklahoma will play its fourth national title after beating No. 8 Alabama 8 in its second game of Sunday's semi-finals.
After being whitened for the first time of the season in the semifinal, the Sooners struck quickly in the nightcap. Sydney Romero started with a walk and Caleigh Clifton took her with a brace in the center-right ditch. Clifton then took advantage of two wild fields to return home.
The Scarlet wave reacted quickly in the second when Reagan Dykes hit a solo circuit.
The Sooners added a pair of insurance at the bottom of the fifth inning, thanks to a two-point home run by Jocelyn Alo.
Alabama kept the game tight with a two-point shot, coming from Skylar Wallace's wand topping the sixth.
At the bottom of the sixth inning, Nicole Mendes drilled another two-run home run, sending his over the right field fence. Grace Lyons followed with a solo shot at center-left field.
Comprehensive review coming soon …
Oklahoma will face UCLA (54-6), seeded number 2, in the best-of-three series of championships that starts Monday at 6:30 pm.
