Oregon announces uniform suit for Oregon State game

On Wednesday, the Ducks announced they would wear the Yellow Nike Vapor Fusion uniform jersey with yellow helmets this Friday night as Oregon kicks off against Oregon State at 4:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.

The uniform resembles the “Oregon Football 2.0” uniforms the Ducks wore in 2018, but has a few minor differences. The numbers feature perforated numbering, with an Oregon “O” moved to the right breastplate instead of a “Ducks” graphic in the 2018 uniforms.

Over the summer, Kenny Farr, administrator of Oregon Football Equipment, joined Oregon Virtual Happy Hour with Rob Moseley, editor of GoDucks.com for Explain how Oregon uniforms go from being an idea to being worn in the field.

One of the most important things Farr noted is that current and former players have a lot of influence over what Oregon wears.

“When it comes to the design of the uniforms, our players have a say,” Farr said. “We have a group of former Ducks who are actually resolute with this process. Some of the people who work very closely with us at Nike.”

Some of the former Ducks who continued to work at Nike include an outstanding wide receiver for the Ducks at the start of this decade, as well as other household names.

“I work at Nike with Daryle Hawkins, a former wide catcher here. He’s the chief uniform designer for us and he’s unreal, amazing at his job.” Farr also mentions former Duck players Brandon McLemore, Mattrell McGraw and Bronson Yim who are working with Oregon on uniform design for Nike.

Current Oregon players also have a say, but the process of getting a uniform from a field design may not mean that the player could actually don that specific uniform.

“Be careful, when we design a uniform or come up with a design for a uniform, we are working 18-24 months. So a junior or a senior can have an idea but they can never really wear that uniform because they can’t. won’t be out for two or three seasons, ”Farr said.
