The rule does not apply to children under 5, the homeless population, people playing competitive sports and those giving a speech or performance in the open air.
Brown’s mask warrant comes after Oregon saw its highest total number of single-day cases since the start of the pandemic: 2,200 cases. Oregon currently has an indoor mask mandate in place for anyone over the age of 5.
