Orioles first baseman Chris Davis made history of dubious nature. After starting the game of Monday at 0-3, he expanded his strikeless sequence up to 47 goals. Davis finished the game at 0 for 5 and has not had a hit since September 14th. The long wave gives Davis the exclusive possession of the MLB record for the greatest number of consecutive strikes of a shot-free player.
What's particularly upsetting for Davis, is that he scored for the first time three times in Monday's game against Oakland. Each time he hit hard and it was right in an outfielder. In his fourth game, he was hit. In his fifth, he hit while swinging a ball in the mud.

Last season, Davis beat .168 / .243 / .296 (50 OPS +) with -2.8 WAR. I do not think we need to list his slash line this season.
