Android Q Beta 4 came out earlier in the day, and although there does not seem to be as much novelty as in the previous beta versions, it's nice to be able to drag the notification to the will of God and to return the lock knob to the rotation. However, they are not all good news. Some people report boot problems when upgrading to Q Beta 4, mainly those with Pixel 2 XL.

We first noticed the problem of bootlooping when a number of commentators of our announcement message on Q Beta 4 revealed it. All the commentators seemed to be using Pixel 2 XL, although others with P2XL could update themselves without any problem. However, we also received a tip from a reader with a Pixel 3 that had the same problem, so this question is not exclusive to 2 XL.

A user of the subreddit r / android_beta discovered that a factory reset would fix a problem, although this obviously results in the loss of all your data. Another user said that a factory reset was not necessary and asked people stuck in the boot loops to reboot, go into recovery mode and restart at from this location, although people seemed to have varying results with this method.

In short, if you have a Pixel phone, especially a 2 XL, and plan to upgrade to Android Q Beta 4, be aware that you may need to perform a factory reset.
