The 2,190 square foot house, located in Guildhall, Vermont, was once the Essex County Jail, as listed on Realtor.com, and once served as the jailer’s residence.
And while the county jail hasn’t been in use since 1969, it still has all the quirks – with barred windows and rusty toilets.
“Bring your own ideas for what that 28 ‘x 40’ wing could be like!” the list encourages.
The house, which has been listed on the website for over two months, is currently priced at $ 149,000.
It remains to be seen whether investing is a handyman’s dream or nightmare.
