BDA Sports Independent Agent Nima Namakian told Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN) that the free agent Kelly Oubre Jr. agreed to a $ 30 million contract over two years.
The agreement now gives the small financial security advanced to 6 feet 7 inches, with the ability to return to the market as a free unrestricted agent aged 25 in 2021. The Suns had the right to match all offers received from another team.
Oubre flourished in Phoenix after an exchange in December sent him with Austin Rivers Sorcerers to the Suns for Trevor Ariza. In 40 games (12 starts) for Phoenix, Oubre recorded a career high in points (16.9), in percentage goals (45.3), in rebounds (4.9) and in aids (1 6).
He was even better after going into training after the All-Star break, averaging 20 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 high-performance flights.
The only negative for Oubre in his relay with the Suns was a thumb injury that required a minor procedure and ended his season in March.
This did not temper Phoenix's feelings for the 23-year-old, ahead of free will.
"I've already said we love Kelly," James Jones, Suns CEO, told reporters in April. "We want Kelly to be here."
Oubre, the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft, spent his first four seasons in Washington, averaging 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 per game.
