Tesla reached for CleanTechnica with the announcement of the increase of the current speed of the Supercharging V2 stations from 120 kW to 150 kW instead of the 145 kW previously communicated by the company, with just a few software updates. These speed improvements were announced in conjunction with the deployment of Tesla's Next Generation V3 Boost Stations last month.

Faster loading in V2

A spokesman for Tesla said that by validating the new speeds of 145 kW, they were able to increase the speed even more and thus increase the maximum charge rate to 150 kW. The higher speeds will increase the load rates of all Teslas stations using the stations, with the Long Range Model 3 and S & X 100 kWh battery packs being able to swallow 150 kW when charging solo on pairs of V2 stations. . Tesla will continue to validate other vehicle / battery combinations for increased optimization, while continuing to evaluate the maximum charge rates of V2 stations.

Warming up the battery on the way

Tesla's S and X models also spark some buzz in the world of charging, as Tesla has confirmed that it has been preheating the battery en route to all the S & X in the world. In practical terms, this technology is another software update that begins to condition the battery in the car when the next destination in the navigation is a Tesla Supercharging station, resulting in a 25% reduction in charge times. This ensures that the battery is ready and ready to accept the maximum possible charge rate when it reaches the charge station.

Maximize the value of existing assets

The speed improvement of "old" supercharging stations is just another example of how Tesla continues to exploit its strengths to offer disproportionate value to homeowners.
