If you’re having trouble signing in or staying in an Outriders game, it’s not just you, and the issue requires a major outage to fix. Developer People Can Fly has acknowledged that the game has server issues, and since it requires an online connection in all modes, that means single-player players cannot enjoy it at this time either. The studio has asked players to accept this and not judge the game on the basis of these “startup issues”.
We continue to investigate server issues.
Some players may be able to reconnect, but this is not guaranteed.
We will update you here once the issue is definitively resolved! https://t.co/cdXYMLGeeP– Outriders (@Outriders) April 2, 2021
In a follow-up tweet, People Can Fly said some players may be able to resume play, but that is not yet “guaranteed.” The issues are still being resolved at this time. The official status page lists a “major outage” affecting the core components of the game. Later, the team said it was intentionally taking all servers offline for a short time in order to troubleshoot and fix them. correctly.
We’re about to make the mother turn them all off and back on.
This will take all servers offline for a short time. The complete outage will allow us to rebuild and restore the server infrastructure to bring it back to a healthy and stable state. https://t.co/EgPgcKu1Io– Outriders (@Outriders) April 2, 2021
Recent server issues have plagued some of us here at GameSpot, although we were finally able to get in after a bit of persistence. Other issues since the game launched on April 1 have included a blocked login screen – which can be resolved by waiting a few minutes – as well as interrupted cross-play. This latter feature currently works between different consoles but not between PCs and consoles.
People Can Fly studio director Sebastian Wojciechowski apologized for the ongoing issues in a tweet, saying the developer was “trying to resolve the issue as soon as possible” in collaboration with Square Enix. He added, “As the developers who have worked really hard over the past 5 years to make this game great, we really hope you judge the game rather than the startup issues related to server issues. It’s frustrating for you. and that’s frustrating for us. We really appreciate your huge interest in the Outriders and hope to see you all on Enoch soon. “
For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, these issues might be a bit easier to fix, as the game was included for free with the service. In GameSpot’s ongoing Outriders review, Phil Hornshaw praised how the game relied on elements from other role-playing shooters, as well as the balance it strikes between seriousness and humor. .
