Outriders, People Can Fly’s next third-person loot game, will launch on Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft confirmed on Monday. Players with a Game Pass subscription can download the game on April 1 or play it using Microsoft’s cloud gaming service, which is currently in beta.
The announcement comes weeks after players got their hands on Outriders via its playable demo, which allows players to track their progress through the full game. In our impressions of the demo, we noted how refreshing it is to only have some useful loot a few hours after starting the game – a good sign of how Outriders can process his loot on April 1.
Outriders takes place on a distant planet called Enoch. After being colonized by humans, something goes terribly wrong and players are left in stasis for years. They emerge with special powers decades later and must help their friends – now much older – reclaim the planet.
Players can choose from four different classes and band together with two other friends to explore Enoch and earn loot. Outriders Also works differently from most loot games, as People Can Fly have made it clear that the game is not a live service game – meaning no further updates are planned and everyone Endgame content will be available to players at launch.
Outriders will also launch on Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC via Steam. The game offers full cross play, so Game Pass friends can play with friends on PC, for example.
