Over 1,000 canceled flights to Denver International Airport due to a blizzard; A line delay

DENVER – More than 1,000 flights had been canceled at the Denver International Airport at 10:00 am. A snow storm fell on the airport, where 7 to 11 inches of snow are expected and wind gusts of up to 80 miles at the hour have already been seen Wednesday morning.

DIA saw a wind gust of 80 mph at 11:44 am

according to the national meteorological service

– wind speed equivalent to a category 1 hurricane. A gust of 92 miles at the time was reported four miles south of Glen Haven.

The airport encourages people to check with their airline to confirm flight status. The DIA has more than 200 snow removal equipment working to clear runways and Pena Boulevard.
