Over a thousand World of Warcraft players band together to create a “fresh” experience in the classic version of the game.

The Fresh Crusade is the result, a community project that currently has 1,300 players and is slated to launch on Friday March 5 with a massive relaunch event. Seven guilds are involved, with players from all over the world ready to create new characters on a low-population PvP server, with the express purpose of creating a new experience for all.
Caszhar, the player who started The Fresh Crusade, told me that on Discord there are a lot of players who want to start Classic over again on a server that has a “fresh” launch feel, one that offers the betting experience. level and community that people may not easily find on existing servers.

One of the big issues, according to Caszhar, is that due to bottling and inflation in the economy, players feel like they will be left behind when Burning Crusade Classic launches later in 2021.
“It makes sense, especially in the current state where most servers don’t have an upgrade scene, with players soloing a lot from 1 to 60 with issues finding groups for dungeons. / group quests, which is an integral part of the Classic WoW journey, ”Caszhar said.
Punching leads to real money transactions (RMT), such as selling in-game gold for real money. In turn, bottling pushes legitimate players out of the economy, affecting crafting and in-game money making.
For example, players who are trying to make money by collecting professions are shut out of the market because they are competing with AI-controlled players who are sucking up all resources.
Those who are trying to make money from crafts and need a scarce resource that is usually bottled may find it more difficult to afford this scarce auction house resource due to of economic inflation caused by bottling. The vicious cycle is then ended when frustrated players find it harder to muster the resources to earn the money needed to afford those high auction house prices.
Raids can also fuel this problem. GDKPs – a type of raid in which players bid on coveted raid items with gold instead of rolling a dice to see who gets the loot – can see huge amounts of RMT Gold spent on items. Then, at the end of the raid, the non-buying participants get all the gold that has been auctioned shared between them. This gold then enters the virtual economy, resulting in higher inflation and prices.
Unfortunately, bots are rampant on all WoW Classic servers, even the poorest. But servers with a low population usually don’t have hugely inflated savings because players don’t buy gold on them, and they don’t buy gold on them because there isn’t. lots of players around.
The Fresh Crusade will target a low-population server in an effort to provide players the chance to get the best “fresh” experience possible despite this botting issue.

Regarding the launch of Classic Burning Crusade, Caszhar is optimistic that the “pre-patch” period will be of huge benefit to those looking to start WoW Classic from scratch.
The pre-patch is the patch that brings the new races of Burning Crusade (Blood Elves and Draenei) into the game, and is expected approximately two weeks before the launch of Classic Burning Crusade.
The pre-patch is expected to trigger an influx of players returning to the game and leveling up from scratch like the new races. Theoretically, this will allow for a healthy leveling experience over the two week period.
“There is sufficient time for the release of TBC to be announced and for those taking part in The Fresh Crusade to experience in-game content, take part in raids, and form their groups of friends and communities,” said Caszhar said.
Caszhar is hoping The Fresh Crusade can reach over 2,000 players when it launches on March 5. “The support from people joining has been heartwarming to see,” said Caszhar. “People are really excited to start on Friday, so there’s definitely a lot of hype going on here.
