How to download and install the July 2019 security updates

Microsoft Windows security updates July 2019

The security updates of July 2019 are distributed through Windows Update, WSUS, and other means. Most client-based Windows systems are configured to automatically check for updates.

Windows administrators who do not want to wait can run manual checks for updates. It is generally not recommended to detect bugs after general availability. Backups are recommended if the installation of updates can not be delayed.

Follow these steps to run a manual update check:

  1. Tap the Windows key, type Windows Update and select the result.
  2. A click on "check for updates" starts a manual check. Updates can be installed automatically or at the request of the user, depending on the system settings.
