Blizzard may have leaked two new characters alongside Overwatch 2 on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Earlier this month at BlizzCon, Blizzard disappointed Overwatch fans with few Overwatch 2 it showed. The lack of character revelation reinforced this disappointment. However, while Blizzard has not come out and announced a new character, the images they showed seem to indicate that two new characters are joining the roster for the series.
The first is one that fans don’t need to be introduced to, and that’s because she’s been a supposed addition to the show’s roster long before. Overwatch 2 was even announced. In the footage shown at BlizzCon, pieces of Junker Queen – her gauntlets and ax – can be seen posing in the background, suggesting that she is in the game to some extent.

The other recently leaked character involves a bit more speculation and is one that some players will not be familiar with. Also on Reddit, a user recently pointed out that one of the robot’s villains looks suspiciously like Soundquake, an in-game hero. The resemblance is hard to ignore, although it is currently impossible to know if he is. there’s actually something to that, not to mention the fact that Soundquake is coming up to the sequel as well.
As always, take everything here with a grain of salt. While Junker Queen’s assets posing in the background seem to confirm its existence in the sequel, this is not official information. Meanwhile, it’s hard to know what to do with the above Soundquake sighting, let alone claim that it means they’re coming to the game.
Overwatch 2 is in development for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and Xbox One. At the time of publication, there has been no word on the release date or the game to come on PS5 or Xbox Series X / S.
