A new Overwatch 2 a leak surfaced online ahead of BlizzCon 2021, and the leak is the path of a major and notorious Overwatch leaker. Blizzard has already confirmed that the long-awaited sequel will be at BlizzCon 2021 and that it will have some updates to share, but as of yet, it hasn’t said a preview of what fans can expect. With the game not releasing this year, it’s safe to assume we won’t get a release date, but at this point it’s probably the only safe guess on the sequel and its presence at BlizzCon this year. .
That said, just at the right time, Overwatch leaker Subway recently took to Twitter to do what Blizzard won’t: set expectations. And to that end, Metro warns Overwatch fans lower their expectations, noting that this will be more or less a progress report on the game, and nothing more.
According to Metro, new heroes will be revealed, and it looks like that will be the highlight. The leaker also notes that “free-to-play is in the works”, but it probably won’t be revealed at BlizzCon.
Metro also briefly touches on the first game, which he says is dead. And to that end, he says don’t expect to see a new one Overwatch hero at all times.
Beyond Overwatch 2, Metro also teases that the long rumor Diablo 2 remaster will finally be revealed as well.
Unfortunately, this is where the leak ends, and at this time, there is no indication that more details will be shared ahead of the event. That said, if more details emerge, we’ll be sure to update the story accordingly. In the meantime, take everything here with a grain of salt. While the source in question has been proven to be reliable in the past, nothing here is official and is subject to change.
