Since the introduction of the first-generation Ford F-150 Raptor, the internet has seen an explosion of videos showing owners taking sketchy jumps with their all-new all-terrain vehicles. The latest comes from Street Speed 717 on YouTube, which just smashed its 2021 Ram 1500 TRX by skipping it for its latest video.

Using an artificial ramp, the driver was able to easily clear the small stream he planned to jump on, as well as another length of truck – collecting the necessary speed was not a problem given the Hellcat’s 702 horsepower supercharged V-8 under the hood. But even the specially designed Bilstein shocks weren’t enough to save the TRX from injury here. The truck catches a lot more air than expected and lands on its skid plate, causing a huge bump that pushes into the bumper. Because the owner had a bunch of improperly stored tires in the bed, they shifted and smashed the rear window on landing and bent the tailgate.
It should be noted that the truck seemed to drive well after impact, which is a testament to the strength of the drivetrain and frame. But fixing all the broken hardware won’t come cheap. Take this as a lesson, new TRX owners.

Of course, the Raptors aren’t the only new trucks people have jumped into oblivion.
