Aaron Rodgers touchdown pass, times 46.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback set a career-high one-season – and franchise record – with his 46th second-quarter touchdown pass Sunday against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

And congratulate Rodgers for recognizing what was to come.

The Bears attacked cornerback Duke Shelley, telling Rodgers he needed to get rid of the ball quickly. With Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the right lunge against linebacker Danny Trevathan, it was an easy shift: one of the NFL’s fastest receivers against a linebacker.

The result was an intact 72-yard touchdown.

Rodgers has two touchdown passes over 70 yards this season – both at Valdes-Scantling. The other was a 78-yarder against the Jaguars in Week 10. This is the first time Rodgers has had multiple 70-yard touchdown passes since 2014, when he had three.
