Linebacker Jaylon Smith didn’t take long to officially land a new job.
Cut off by the Cowboys on Wednesday, Smith officially joined the Green Bay roster. The Packers announced the deal Thursday.
To create a place on the roster for Smith, the Packers placed linebacker Chauncey Rivers on the injured reserve.
The Packers also announced that Smith, who allegedly paid $ 500,000 to change his number from No.54 to No.9 in Dallas, will wear No.9 in Green Bay. Practice team kicker JJ Molson will drop from number 9 to number 11.
Presumably there was no inventory of Molson 9 jerseys to buy.
