Packers Practice Squad 2019: Looking for signatures for the selection of ten players

The list slices are finished. Waivers have been processed. The time has come for NFL teams to start compiling their training teams.

As the Green Bay Packers begin a normal week of practice today seven days before their opening game against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, the staff service will also be at work. After 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, teams are allowed to begin signing players to practice teams, completing the initial process of building the list.

Each team can register up to ten players in the team, which will train with the alignment of 53 players and will continue the development of young players.

Most players in the training teams will be recruits or players with little or no experience in the NFL. The general conditions of eligibility of the practice teams are as follows:

  • Less than two seasons of experience accumulated in the NFL (defined by six or more games on a list of active players or an injured reserve)
  • No more than three seasons spent in a training team (a season is defined by six or more games in a team during a single year)

Note that there is an exception to the first criterion above: teams can now carry up to four players from the training team with two accumulated experience seasons, against two of these players in previous years.

Teams can engage players from other teams' training teams on their own list of 53 players. This decision belongs entirely to the player, who can accept or refuse the offer. In addition, players will earn at least $ 8,000 per week in the training team, although teams are free to pay these players more than that. This often happens in the case of a player that the team wants to keep and persuade to stay rather than sign with another team.

Here are the signatures reported by the Packers to start 2019.
