ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said she tested positive for COVID-19 and urged people to take action to guard against coronavirus, such as the port of masks in public.
“Through it all, I see wearing that bulky mask indoors in a crowd not only allows the new luxury of being incognito, but I believe it’s better than doing nothing to slow the spread. 2008 Republican running mate Palin told People. magazine.
“And history will show that we, the Masked Singer visitors, were masked before we were masked, that was cool,” she said in her statement, referring to the TV show in which she appeared once.
It was not clear when Palin, 57, tested positive. She told the magazine that other members of her family had also tested positive.
She said her case shows “anyone can catch this”.
“I strongly encourage everyone to use common sense to avoid spreading this virus and all the other viruses,” Palin said, urging vigilance but not fear.
She also advised to “re-prioritize personal time and resources to ensure as healthy a lifestyle as possible, so that when viruses strike you at least have armor to fight it off.”
